Greenwood School offers an individualized speech and language program for based on each student’s needs.
Students with language-based learning challenges can have a difficult time finding the right words to express themselves, can experience difficulty with time sequences (days of the week, months of the year), or can struggle to understand figurative language (expressions like “keep your eye on the prize” or “stuck between a rock and a hard place”). Additionally, these students often struggle to process complex language (like multi-step directions), create mental images that assist comprehension, or fluently match and manipulate sounds within letters and words (an important subskill for reading). Some students also struggle with articulation.
