Language Literacy teachers instruct using visual, auditory, and kinesthetic pathways of the brain simultaneously to enhance memory and learning.
Who we are: The Language Literacy Specialists at Greenwood are certified in prescriptive, diagnostic, multisensory sensory language programs, which follow recommendations governed by the National Reading Panel. The areas of instruction include phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
We specialize in instructing word and sentence reading and spelling at varying stages of development. Depending upon your child’s level or areas of remediation, we may progress through letter-sound associations to word decoding and encoding to more advanced practices of comprehension and vocabulary development.
What we do: Each teacher that instructs within a certified area follows a method that requires the organization of lessons to follow a sequential and logical order of our language. As concepts are taught systematically, careful consideration is given to your child’s learning profile and needs. The sequence of material will always begin with the easiest concepts and continue to more advanced material while remaining diagnostic. Our goals as instructors are to build your child’s confidence through the reading and writing processes.
