Aria Carter has resumed her post as Director of Admissions at The Greenwood School after enjoying a year off with her son Brooks. Please welcome back our much-loved staff member! Here’s what Aria has to say.
This past year has been a remarkable time for me. It was a gift to be able to spend it with my son, Brooks, who has just turned two. I thought it would be a year to catch my breath... but that could not have been further from the truth. Many days were spent hauling 25 pounds up the sledding hill, over and over again, exploring VT farms and museums, in libraries and on gymnastic mats, skipping rocks on the river, chasing butterflies in the woods and turning over logs in search of worms and salamanders.
In my year away from Greenwood, I have truly fallen in love with southern Vermont, seeing it for the first time through the eyes of a child. When I was recently asked to consider coming back to the role of Admissions Director, I thought how fortunate it was to have had this past year off— so instead of just telling everyone how amazing and specialized our school is, I’m now convinced that our location is a hidden gem- a goldmine!
I am so happy to reconnect with families, colleagues, students, friends and consultants whose relationships have brought me such happiness over these past nine years. It’s great to be back!
